Most over the counter soaps have moisturizers which are designed to pull moisture into the skin which works against the common goal of removing harmful particulates.
Ember Suds is charged with charcoal and fine pumice to remove soot and is specially designed for firefighters.
WHAT'S INSIDE?
ACTIVATED CHARCOAL
Activated charcoal is a highly porous form of carbon with an enormous surface area that attracts and adsorbs contaminants. This structure allows it to bind soot, oils, and chemical residues on the skin, forming a slurry that can be washed away. The same adsorption properties that make activated charcoal useful in toxin-binding applications also make it effective for firefighter post-incident skin decontamination.
PUMICE
Pumice is a naturally porous volcanic rock that, when ground into fine particles, creates an effective exfoliant. In Ember Suds, finely milled pumice helps break up and lift embedded soot and particulate matter from the skin’s surface, making it easier for the soap to capture and rinse away contaminants during post-incident cleanup.
SOAP
Soap is created when plant based fatty acids react with an alkali, producing molecules that latch onto oils, soot, and other residues on the skin. One end of the soap molecule grabs onto the contaminant, while the other bonds with water, allowing the grime to lift off the surface and rinse away. This dual action is what helps remove fireground residues during post-incident wash-ups.
A SIMPLE STEP IN THE DECON PROCESS
INSTRUCTIONS
Ember Suds is designed to assist in the removal of soot and other harmful byproducts encountered in fire ground operations:
1. Use ASAP post fire exposure
2. Begin with cool shower (NOT HOT)
3. Rinse body thoroughly
4. Scrub body directly with surface of bar
5. Allow product to sit for 30 seconds or longer
FOR FACE AND HAIR:
Lather bar in hands and apply Ember Suds to face and hair. Rinse and Repeat.
